In therapy my hope is to create a relationship that will explore how we make sense in times of uncertainty. Through directly engaging with you, being myself with you and a commitment to the process of therapy, my only aim is to help enhance your awareness of what is most important right now. And in this way, together, we learn to meet and enlist your innate healing intelligence and create a path forward.

I have experience working with a diverse array of people coming to therapy for issues related to our common humanity, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness and relationship disruptions.  I have a particular fondness for working with people grappling with grief, mourning, death anxiety, and those currently in, or supporting others in the dying phase of life.  I am also experienced in working with people contemplating their relationship with substances and those who are working through how they have been shaped by trauma.  It has always been important to me to work with people who make things, whether they call themselves artists, craftspeople or creatives. Who you are as a diverse person in the world is vitally important, and will be explored and affirmed in our therapy work.

My practice is conducted primarily via Telehealth sessions, although I maintain a hybrid schedule and come to Los Angeles for in person sessions occasionally.  I also work in person with people who live in the high desert of California (Joshua Tree area), and at times will do longer “intensive” sessions for people traveling from out of town.

I became a therapist as a result of my curiosity and my struggles.  I have a great love of my work and feel immense gratitude for the people who have trusted me enough to engage in therapy, which is an inherently vulnerable endeavor.  The practice of creating music and art has long been part of my life, and these ways of being continue to support my work as a mental health practitioner.

Services

I offer individual psychotherapy sessions that are 50 minutes long.  Longer sessions are available when needed. We could meet weekly or multiple times per week depending on your needs. I don’t start therapy on an every two weeks basis as I find it’s hard to gain our initial ground on which the therapy relationship is built, although we could move to that arrangement after finding our direction and way of working with each other.

I want people to enter into therapy as informed as possible, so I offer an initial session for free.  This way you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether you want to start ongoing therapy with me. The session fee is $225. I do have limited number of sliding scale options when available, and we can have a conversation about what you can afford at this moment.  Although I am not an in-network insurance provider, I will give you a monthly superbill that you can present to your insurer for reimbursements (usually this only works with PPO plans, we can discuss what questions you might need to ask your provider to get this process going).

Psychotherapy

I provide support with your psychedelic journey work, using a harm reduction model to help you prepare and integrate the experience. This kind of therapy is never a quick fix or easy solution for long standing issues.

Extensive training and personal experience has taught me how psychedelic supported therapy can help facilitate contact with the healing intelligence that exists within us all. For most of us (myself included), the rhythms of life, shame, neglect, and sheer busyness, makes this kind of meeting a rare encounter. With my therapeutic support and a space to explore, we can co-create conditions for such a meeting.

People are going to use psychedelics whether they live in a place where the medicine is decriminalized or not, so I’m committed to helping cultivate a mindset of intentional and responsible use to reduce negative situations and enhance therapeutic encounters.

Psychedleic Supported Psychotherapy

Training I am a core faculty member of The Pacific Gestalt Institute which provides post graduate experiential training in Relational Gestalt Therapy. If you are a therapist and are interested in learning more about our programs, please do so here

Individual consultation can be a helpful way to keep creativity alive and support awareness in your work as a therapist.  This is not therapy exactly, but can wade into territory that is personal and vulnerable as it might relate to your work. The fee is $225

Study/ Consultation Group is where we discuss contemporary relational Gestalt therapy topics half of the time, then the other half is dedicated to case consultation.  The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month and the fee is $80. This can be a fun and exciting way to learn together!

Another group for the study and practice of Relational Gestalt Therapy, co-facilitated with Kerry Gough, is starting in Fall of 2025.  If you are interested please fill out the form here
